Businesses Dwelling in Kolkata for a Long time

Kolkata is a city with rich culture and heritage, the city has a beautiful past and immense significance in Indian history. Hence, we have chosen a topic that explores businesses that have been surviving since then. We  decided to explore a wide range of areas. We started with something Kolkata is the most famous for- its sweets! We also explored the garment sector. Now one may ask the major difficulties we faced while working on this project, we faced a lot of challenges while trying to convince businessmen and businesswomen to let us record a video interview of them and then further record some footage in their stores. Through this project we learnt how people here unite and carry out their respective businesses in Kolkata. We have also learned how to communicate with people and understand their business perspectives. These interviews made us aware of the art of asking the right questions, which are actually relevant to the interviewee. We believe our project justifies the main theme ‘Create and Unite’ as these businesses have seen a lot of changes in generations, trends and style of selling products. The experiences of the owners and the changes that they have brought in order to survive with the newcomers as well , still maintaining  high quality standards and customer-employee relationship have shown us that our project justifies the broad heading Create and Unite. We as a group also united to work on this unique project and learnt a lot while working together and will always carry these moments with us.
